The Wood
Our humidors are internally lined with Spanish Cedar (Cedrala Odorata), a wood whose aromatic essence closely resembles that of tobacco. This special wood also has properties that deter tobacco worms and fungus, providing additional protection for cigars. While not a substitute for proper humidity and temperature control, the Spanish Cedar can retain moisture for extended periods, aiding in the regulation of humidity levels.
Ancient Kauri Timber Certificate of Authenticity - 30,000 to more than 50,000 years old!
Our humidors are constructed from a wide range of domestic and exotic wood species, such as Spalted Curly Maple, Pecky Cyprus, and Ancient Kauri, to name just a few. All of the wood in our inventory has been aged for over 15 years, with the exception of the Ancient Kauri, which has been aging for over 50,000 years. Depending on the desired outcome and species selection, some woods can be dyed to accentuate their unique grain patterns and colors through advanced tracing techniques.
